Adding / Editing Types & Categories

  1. Open the StorMan Types & Categories section, by going to the Maintenance menu, then selecting Types & Categories.
  2. The listing of types & categories will now appear; with the default view most likely set to Marketing Types (as shown below). You can change the Category Type using the dropdown at the bottom of the window (more on what Types & Categories are: #TPCTWITC01). Types & Categories

  3. Once you have selected the type that you wish to work with, click Add New Code. A dialog will open (as shown below), allowing you to add a new code (of the type you selected from the dropdown in Step 2) of the system. Types & Categories
    • Category code shows the type of code you are adding (again, this comes from the option you had selected in the dropdown in Step 2).
    • Description is used to enter a description for the item. If, for example, you were adding a new option (type) into the category for Reason for Storing, then the description field would be used to display that reason; in the case of this example, you may enter 'Moving house', or 'Too much stuff'.
    • Sort order allows you to sort where it appears in the dropdown list, on Customer input screens.
    • Inactive, when enabled, sets the type or category as inactive.
    • Usage statistics are information fields only, and will only show data when you edit existing data (see table below).
  4. Click OK to save & close, then Done to return to the main StorMan screen.
