About Storman Payments

StorMan's Online Payments system allows you to accept payments from your Customers via your website.

How much does it cost?

Please contact us for pricing information in your region. Note: If you run StorMan MultiView, you will only need to purchase 1 webserver module for your head office site; all other sites will fall underneath this 'master' site. However, if you have (for example) 5 sites but do not use StorMan MultiView, then you will need to purchase 5 separate webserver modules.Note: Our Online Reservations system (more on this: #OLSORS01) also requires a webserver module - so if you already use our Online Reservations system, you will not need to purchase an additional webserver module.

How does it work (from a Customers point-of-view)?

  1. The Customer visits your website and clicks a Pay a bill button (your web developer will need to create & hyperlink this button after we provide them with the link; more info via our Online Payments guide for Web Developers).
  2. The Customer is redirected to the Online Payments website for your company, which we host for you on www.storpay.com. Because we host these pages, you will NOT need an SSL certificate on your website.
  3. As the first page loads, it checks to ensure that it can communicate with the StorMan program running at your site...
    • If your StorMan program is not running, or your site internet connection is down, the web page will display an error or 'down for maintenance' page. The Customer will need to return another time to make their payment.
    • If your StorMan program is running, your site internet connection is OK and all communications are working, then the Online Payments page will display a login box, as explained in the next step...
  4. The Customer enters their Agreement number and password into the fields provided on the web page (the password comes from their Agreement Info tab; more on this tab: #AGTTAB101). Note: Depending on your setup preferences, the customer may elect to omit their password and login with just their agreement number. In these instances, the customers name, balance due, due date & last bill information are NOT shown on the next page (see next step, below), due to privacy reasons.
  5. If the details are correct, the Online Payments system displays the Customer's name, balance due, due date & last bill information on the web page. The Customer can then click a button to make a payment.
  6. The web page reloads to display the payments page - allowing the Customer to enter their credit card details.
  7. Once the Customer enters their information and clicks the button, the web page reloads to confirm the information they have entered.
  8. Once the Customer is happy with the information, they click a button to proceed to the next page. The payment is processed via the merchant gateway and the Customer is shown a success / fail message. Within 30 seconds, the StorMan program running at the site is notified about the payment and the payment is automatically applied to the Customer's Agreement (on their Transactions tab; more on this tab: #AGTTAB601).
  9. At this point, an email is sent to the Customer to confirm their payment. An email is also sent to the site to inform the site of the payment.
  10. The Customer closes the session and / or returns to your website. The Online Payments process is now complete.

Things to keep in mind for Online Payments

  • If you use StorMan MultiView, the Head Office server running MultiView will need to remain turned on and connected to the internet 24/7 for the Online Payments system to work. This server will also need an externally accessible static IP address (although, it will likely already have one if you are running MultiView - but please check with your IT technician to be sure).

  • If you use StorMan MultiUser at your facility (or facilities), the computers running StorMan Server will need to remain turned on and connected to the internet 24/7 for the Online Payments system to work. Your internet connection(s) where these server computers are located will need an externally accessible static IP address, so you will need to ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to supply you with one. If you are unsure what this is, please consult your IT technician who will generally be able to request this on your behalf.

  • If you use StorMan Professional at your facility (or facilities), these computers will need to remain turned on and connected to the internet 24/7 for the Online Payments system to work. Your internet connection(s) where these computers are located will need an externally accessible static IP address, so you will need to ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to supply you with one. If you are unsure what this is, please consult your IT technician who will generally be able to request this on your behalf.

Setup procedure for Online Payments

Using the standard (default) Online Payments templates? You will need to complete these steps...

  • Step 1: Pick one of our supported payment providers (more on this: #3PTYCOMP) & complete a merchant application form for your selected provider. After a few days / weeks, your selected provider should give you username / account / password details. If you already use one of our supported payment providers, have your account details handy. You will need these in Step 4.

  • Step 2: Ask your ISP or IT technician to setup your facility internet connection with a "static IP address" (this may take them a few days to setup). If you use StorMan MultiView, you will probably already have a static IP address - please ask StorMan or your IT provider to locate the number for you. You will need this in Step 4.

  • Step 3: Ask your graphic designer to provide you with a copy of your logo to match these exact specifications: 300px (W) by 100px (H) & saved as a transparent .PNG file. You will need this in Step 4. Note: Additional charges will apply if you need StorMan to complete this for you.

  • Step 4: Submit an Online Payments application form (have your merchant information from Step 1, your logo from Step 2 and your static IP address from Step 3 ready). Once we receive the completed form with all required information, we will install the default templates on to the Online Payments server & will email a link for the "Pay now" button to you. Ask your web designer to place this link onto your website.

  • Step 5: Ask your IT technician to open / forward the relevant Online Payments ports (more on this: #HWSNPT01) in your router / modem.

  • Step 6: Setup the Online Payments analysis codes in StorMan.

  • Step 7: Ask your IT technician to help you test the system.

If your web developer is customising the standard templates, you will need to complete these steps instead...

  • Step 2: Ask your web developer to read our Online Payments guide for Web Developers. From that link, they can download the templates, learn how to customise them & make the required template modifications for you. You will need these in Step 4.

  • Step 3: Ask your ISP or IT technician to setup your facility internet connection with a "static IP address" (this may take them a few days to setup). If you use StorMan MultiView, you will probably already have a static IP address - please ask StorMan or your IT provider to locate the number for you. You will need this in Step 4.

  • Step 4: Submit an Online Payments application form. You must have the following ready: Merchant Information from Step 1, your Customised Templates from Step 2 and your Static IP Address from Step 3). Once we receive the completed form with all required information, we will setup the system for you & install the custom templates that you included with your Online Payments application form.

  • Step 4: Ask your IT technician to open / forward the relevant Online Payments ports (more on this: #HWSNPT01) in your router / modem.

  • Step 5: Setup the Online Payments analysis codes in StorMan.

  • Step 6: We will email you a link for the Pay now button; give this link to your web developer. They'll need to place this link onto your website.

  • Step 7: Ask your IT technician or web developer to help you test the system.
