What is a "You do not have permission to set a Notice Given date earlier than the current date" error?

This particular error appears when you attempt to adjust the move out notice-given date on a Customer's Agreement, but you do not have permission to do so.

 

How do I fix a "You do not have permission to set a Notice Given date earlier than the current date" error?

You will need to edit the permissions for the user who is receiving this error, and give them access to be able to modify this field. Instructions on doing so are provided below.

  1. Open the Users & Groups Permissions section, by selecting the Maintenance menu, and then Modify Users & Groups.
  2. Double-click on the user you wish to edit. Their permissions screen will now open.
  3. Ensure Customers is the item selected in the dropdown box; if it isn't, select this option from the dropdown.
  4. The current user's permission for the Customers section is shown underneath - a dot next to an item indicates that the user has permission for that item. Ensure there's a dot next to Notice Given bfre Current Date (as shown below). Click on the name of the permission to activate / deactivate the dot.Screenshot
  5. Click OK, then OK again to save & close these settings.
