Things to be aware of
The process outlined on this page assumes you are moving in a new Customer. If you have an existing Customer that wants to move into an additional Unit (an extra Berth / Unit / Vault), refer to: #CUSAAS01.
How do I move a Customer into a space?
As outlined in the section 'How to start the move in process' at the top of this page, there are several ways to move in a Customer. These instructions are designed for those who have started a move-in using one of the following methods...
Clicking Move In on the main StorMan Dashboard (more on the Dashboard icons: #DBDICS01).
Opening Customers & Agreements from the Customer menu, then selecting New Move In.
Start a new move in (see bullet points above).
Enter a name for your Customer in the Customer name field at the top of the window, and press TAB to move the cursor out of this field. If StorMan has detected another Customer with a similar name, it will prompt you with a list of similarly named Customers, in case you wish to map this Agreement to an existing Customer. If not, you will be asked whether you wish to create a new Agreement for this Customer. Select Yes to create the new Agreement.
Click + above the Unit section to add a new Berth / Unit / Vault to this particular Agreement.
Select your Berth / Unit / Vault using the tools provided to move the Customer into the Berth / Unit / Vault.
Enter any other Customer information as required - working your way through the tabs at the top of the window.
When you get to the Transactions tab, ensure you click Bill Next Charges to bill the first lot of rental charges & any deposit or move-in charges, as required. In most cases, since the Customer will most likely be standing in front of you completing the paperwork while you move them into the system, you may also wish to take a payment from them (using Add Receipt) at this time.
