How do I add a Cash Sale?

There are two quick ways to add a new cash sale in StorMan...

  • Select Accounting, then Other Cash Sales. Click Add New Transaction to add a new cash sale.
  • Click the Cash Sale icon on the StorMan Dashboard (more on the Dashboard icons: #DBDICS01).

 

Adding a new Cash Sale

  1. Select Accounting, then Other Cash Sales - or click the Cash Sale icon on the StorMan Dashboard (more on the Dashboard icons: #DBDICS01).
  2. The Cash Sale listing will appear. Click Add New Transaction to add a new cash sale.
  3. The New Cash Sale dialog will appear (as shown below). Complete your cash sale as required (using the options described below). Adding a new cash sale
    • Completing the address information at the top of this screen is optional, but please check with your site or area manager as your company policy may require that this data is collected.
    • The Charges and Receipt tabs along the top of the Charges table allow you to switch between the screen used for adding charges and the receipt or payment screen (used for taking a payment for this cash sale; see next screenshot below).
    • Use + to add a charge to the Cash Sale, or select the charge directly from the dropdown to add it (the latter method is slightly faster). Need to add a new merchandise item to the list of sellable items? See #IVTAIT01.
    • Use X to delete the highlighted charge.
    • Once charges have been added, you can adjust their quantities by clicking in the relevant Qty column and updating it as required.
  4. Click the Receipt tab to add a payment (receipt). The receipt dialog will appear (as shown below). Complete your receipt as required (using the options described below). Receipting a cash sale
    • If the Customer is paying via credit card, click Enter Card to enter their credit card details for automated online processing (through a supported 3rd-party provider; more on this: #3PTYCOMP).
    • If your Customer is paying with cash, complete the Amount Tendered section with the amount of money they gave you. StorMan will then automatically work out the change that you need to give your Customer (which will be displayed in the Change Required field underneath).
  5. When complete, click OK then Done.
