Analysis Categories are used to group analysis codes (more on Analysis Codes: #ANLWAC01) for ease of display and reporting purposes. For example, if your company stocks 15 different types of boxes, you may wish to create an analysis category called 'Cardboard's' or 'Boxes', to group these together. Then, when you go to sell (or report on) your merchandise items, these particular items would appear grouped together under the one analysis category.
As analysis categories are setup under the Types & Categories section within StorMan (more on Types & Categories: #TPCTWITC01, or more on adding / editing Analysis Codes: #TPCTATC01).
